Delete your account

In the app

Open Handoro, go to Account, tap Delete my account, then confirm.

Your account and everything listed below are deleted straight away, and you are signed out.

Deleting only some of your data

You do not have to delete your account to remove something you would rather we did not hold.

• DIY conversations. Open a conversation in the app and delete one message, several at once, or the whole conversation. Deleted messages are removed from our servers, not hidden from you.
• Your appliances. Remove one machine, or the whole list, from the home screen.
• Your saved card. Tradespeople can remove it at any time under Billing. Commission already owed is still owed, and we invoice it another way.
• A copy of everything. The Account screen will also give you a copy of the data we hold about you, so you can see what there is before deciding what to remove.

What is kept, and why

Three things survive the deletion. Each is kept for a reason we can point at, and none of them can be used to read your phone number back out.

• The record that a tradesperson was lawfully told who was contacting them and why. This is the evidence that the contact was lawful, so it is kept for ten years (UK GDPR Art. 17(3)(e)). The link to your account is erased, and the number was never stored in readable form — only an irreversible digest.
• Commission invoices. These are accounting documents. How long they are kept is decided by tax law, not by us.
• Do-not-contact entries. These never expire, on purpose: deleting one would start the messages again. They are also stored only as an irreversible digest, so the list is not a list of phone numbers.
